Standards and interoperability

The standards, and what each one is for.

This is the evidence, not a wall of logos. Each row names a standard, the direction it runs, and what your systems librarian can validate independently.

The evidence matrix

Standards in. Standards out.

Every row can be demonstrated in an evaluation, where your team can export EAD, Dublin Core, METS, and BagIt from real records and validate it with its own tooling before any commitment.

01

Imports

Bring records in from CSV, EAD, MARC or MODS, and harvested OAI-PMH. Migration lands in a model your profession already governs.

IMPORT · CSV · EAD · MARC/MODS · OAI-PMH HARVEST

02

Descriptive exports

Export descriptions as Dublin Core, EAD 2002 or EAD3, and MODS, so records read cleanly in other systems.

EXPORT · DUBLIN CORE · EAD 2002 / EAD3 · MODS

03

Preservation packaging

Package records with their media as METS with PREMIS, and produce BagIt transfer packages your next system can verify.

EXPORT · METS + PREMIS · BAGIT

04

Authority records

Export EAC-CPF authority records for people, families, and organizations, so context travels with the records.

EXPORT · EAC-CPF

05

OAI-PMH, both directions

Serve published records to aggregators, and harvest records from source systems. The endpoint runs continuously, not once at exit.

OAI-PMH · SERVE · HARVEST

06

IIIF viewing

Deliver deep-zoom images and structured objects through the IIIF Image and Presentation APIs, so viewers you do not operate can display your collections.

IIIF IMAGE API · IIIF PRESENTATION API

07

Persistent identifiers

Mint ARK and DOI identifiers, so records stay citable and findable over time.

ARK · DOI MINTING

08

Citation export

Export a citation for any record in six styles, so researchers can cite the source without retyping it.

CITATION EXPORT · SIX STYLES

09

Fixity verification

Calculate a SHA-256 checksum at upload, then re-verify it on a schedule and alert on change. Corruption is caught, not assumed away.

Ask for the sample exports before you commit.
