Archively.AIArchives Made Intelligent
Stories

The blog your archive always wanted to write.

A Notion-style block editor for editorial stories that link directly to your catalog. Drop in an item card, paragraph, quote, two-column image gallery, or an entity series — and publish to a citable, SEO-ready URL on your portal.

An editorial layer over the catalog.

Most archive software stops at the record. Stories let your curators tell the bigger picture — exhibitions, anniversaries, new acquisitions, deep dives — without exporting fields to a separate CMS that drifts out of sync.

Entity blocks stay live.

Drop an Item card into a story. Re-pick to refresh the snapshot. Original entity is one click away.

Magazine-quality layout.

Eight column-width presets, vertical or horizontal entity cards, full or half-width images, dividers.

Track changes, like everywhere else.

Pristine vs dirty vs published — same model as Items. Floating Save bar tracks your edits.

Nine block types

The right primitives. Nothing more.

Each block type is purpose-built for archival writing — entity cards, entity series, attribution-aware quotes, layout-aware images.

Heading

H1, H2, or H3 with the portal's typography baked in.

Paragraph

Markdown — headings, lists, links, **bold**, *italics*, [links](url).

Quote

Pull-quote with optional attribution. Renders large, indented.

Image

Full-width or half-width with caption and alt text. Pulls from the media library.

Entity card

Drop in an Item, Person, Organization, Event, or Collection — caches a snapshot so the card always renders.

Entity series

A grid or list of multiple entities of one kind — perfect for an exhibition or thematic spread.

External link

Rich link card with URL, title, description, and optional preview image.

Divider

A horizontal rule for sectioning long stories.

Row

2-, 3-, or 4-column container. Eight presets — 50/50, 33/67, 25/50/25, equal-fourths, more.

Publish freezes a snapshot.

When you hit Publish, the story's title, body, blocks, cover, and linked items are frozen into an immutable snapshot. The portal reads only from that — so curator edits never retroactively change what the public sees.

  • Versioned snapshot — safe to evolve over time
  • Re-publish overwrites the snapshot; the timestamp is kept
  • Banner warns when you have unpublished edits
  • One-click revert to draft

Permalinks and SEO settings
Multiple permalinks per story — old shareable links keep working when titles change

Permalinks & SEO that don't break old links.

Stories ship with first-class SEO meta and a permalinks list — so an old shareable URL still resolves after you rename a story. No 404s, no lost citations.

  • Slug is unique per tenant; portal URL is /stories/{slug}
  • MetaDescription copied into the document head at render
  • PermalinksJson holds additional slugs that resolve to the same story
  • Open Graph cover image presigned and served from object storage

A newsroom view for the curator team.

A search page with publish-state filter (All · Published · Drafts), three sort orders, search-as-you-type, and per-card actions for quick triage of a long backlog.

  • All · Published · Drafts filter chips
  • Sort: Recently Published · Newest · Title A–Z
  • Per-story cover, excerpt, author, tags, linked-item count
  • Quick actions: Preview · Edit · Delete (with confirmation)
